Safety and Environmental Compliance and Engineering Consultant / Trainer – Advancement opportunities offered for entry to mid-level Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant with OSHA and EPA regulatory compliance knowledge and experience. This is a hot and fast growing field for a candidate passionate about protecting the environment and worker safety! Will work in the Mid-Atlantic States (MD, DC, PA, DE, VA, WV) consulting for private sector businesses and/or government agencies in the region. Duties to include a wide variety of projects in occupational safety and health and environmental compliance, including but not limited to OSHA and EPA permit, plan, and report writing; required programmatic training for clients’ employees; OSHA and EPA compliance audits; as well as marketing and client relations.
Candidate Qualifications: The ideal candidate is well-versed in OSHA and EPA regulations with a broad knowledge and understanding of both agencies’ regulatory programs. The person is
an entrepreneurial leader with high energy and excellent people skills; has the ability to multi-task, work without supervision with focus and urgency towards goals, and has excellent organization and follow-up skills.
•
Bachelor’s Degree minimum required, Master’s degree preferred, in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or related field
•Minimum 2 - 5 years regulatory compliance experience with OSHA, EPA or EHS consulting firm
•Experience in EHS consulting for Mid-Atlantic region private sector businesses is a plus
•Knowledge of construction safety and electrical safety desired
•Excellent organization, communication, listening and problem-solving skills
•Strong presentation/public speaking skills (for employee training); Certified Environmental or Certified Safety Trainer (CET, CST); Certified First Aid, CPR instructor, also a plus
•Excellent writing skills
•Full access to a vehicle; accustomed to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic states
